Discount Vouchers

Here is a quick tip that you can use on many ecommerce websites to make big savings when buying products online.

You may have noticed that when you reach the checkout page on may online stores you will be presented with a “voucher” box, you might even have thought to yourself “I wish I had a voucher, I wonder how you get one?”.

Well before you complete your transaction and enter your card details it’s always worth opening up a seperate web browser window, heading to your search engine of choice and entering a quick search query along the lines of “{name of the website you are shopping with} vouchers”. You’ll often find a suitable code has been posted on a website somewhere that may offer a discount or free delivery.

“Surely they wouldn’t honour vouchers you’ve just found online” you might be asking yourself, but on the contrary many retailers will deliberately send out multi-use voucher codes to a “select few” customers, knowing full well that they will make it into the public domain and hopefully bring more customers to their store. It’s a basic eCommerce marketing technique.

As the head of eCommerce for a leading online retailer put it to me “if I’m willing to sell to Jack at that price then I’m happy to sell to Jill and John that price too, it’s all sales at the end of the day”.

It’s always worth the 2 extra minutes to see if you can take advantage of these offers too.
